  1. The game looks great, is simple to pick up and play and it takes a while to see everything should you decide to uncover all of the characters, cards and storylines.
  2. Fighting game loyalists may want to steer away, but anyone looking to thrash perky and magically endowed creatures may find enjoyment in the world of Zatch Bell!
  3. Hmmm, do I smell yet another Bandai anime-based fighting game? Indeed I do and again it's all that and a trip to the fruity farm... [Nov p.94]
  4. The game looks great, but it's shallower than fighter fans might hope for. [Dec 2005, p.122]
  5. If the characters were anywhere close to balanced, or if it were four-player or had some other awesome redeeming quality, I could recommend Zatch Bell, but the value is just not there.
  6. A nice visual and audible replication of the anime, but it still lacks the in-depth story of a true anime.
  7. 20
As far as we can tell, Mamodo Battles was made for stupid, uncoordinated kids with poor taste in gaming and a big love of all things Zatch Bell!
