Unity Games' Archangel is great for those who love the grind of a great looking dungeon-crawler but feels as though it takes a while to truly get going.

Archangel is slow to get started, but after gaining some abilities and spells the pace of combat picks up for a satisfying and long-lasting dungeon crawler.

Archangel brings some fresh ideas to the well-worn action-RPG genre, enabling it to mark out some territory all of its own while remaining good fun. Black Tower Studios should be commended for taking a risk and trying something new.

Archangel is a well-crafted dungeon-crawler with a handful of nice touches, but it could use a little more spark and imagination in its world design and core gameplay.

Archangel delivers a charming, visually stunning action RPG experience, but it fails to deliver due to an unfortunate mix of RTS controls and level design.

It’s a decent title, but unfortunately, it never reaches the angelic heights of fun that were promised.

There’s just too much silliness to suffer through to dig into the parts of Archangel that are good. This is one of a wave of titles showing how pretty mobile games can look on up-to-date hardware, but the beauty is definitely only skin deep. Gameplay matters, even on phones and tablets.

Been at it for a good few hours now! Initially it's a little slow but once you learn all your spells it's a frantic gaming experience! I negated a point for the slow start. Otherwise I really really am enjoying it! Expand

I really don't understand why anyone would rate this game well. Maybe because it's from Unity and they're chummy with a lot of people in mobile gaming. Based on its own merits, this game is terrible. Even after you learn more skills it's still the same, boring and repetitive tripe. The characters are stiff, the combat uninspired, there's no sense of exploration or adventure and the so called "loot" system feels tacked on and cheap. All the skills are just learned from going to new levels so there's no sense whatsoever that you're actually building and improving your character. It was a struggle for me just to get far enough in that I felt comfortable posting a review on here. It shouldn't be necessary to force yourself to play a gene until it "picks up" anyway, not that this ever does. Just plain bad and a waste of money- deleted. Expand
