A particularly nice touch is that you can have multiple online games going at once, so you don't have to sit around waiting if your opponent has to put a game down for a while.
With the constantly rotating and random list of card to buy, Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer is a game that plays very differently each time you boot it up. Sometimes the deck looks monster heavy, so military cards are a good choice. Other times buying lots of draw cards so you can churn through the deck over and over is the right way to go.
If you have been curious about Ascension but weren't ready to pay the price for the actual board game or don't have any local friends to play it with, the iOS version is a great option to play it. Because it plays so quickly, you can get a game in at a fraction of the time.
When the cards become familiar enough to make zooming a thing of the past, Ascension flowers thanks to its speedy and unfussy online integration. A simple game to learn, it's one that builds into rich and complex battles, big and small. It probably won't impress the airhead in your life, unfortunately – but that's what iPint's for.
If you enjoy CCGs or you already own Ascension, this is an easy title to recommend, but if you're looking for something with a bit more meat it's worth waiting to see where the developer takes this App in the future.
A clever and tactical game that just lacks the extra features to truly ascend to the top of the deck.
A unique card battle game with some good ideas, but it lacks the collection part and the design is awful.
