IAP purchases are mandatory, due not only to extremely high price / low rewards, but an actual cap to the amount of money you can earn by playing the missions. After clearing all of them, you can afford... one "assassins booster."

You have to make a "uplay" account in order to get new cards at all. And you'll have to be online when you do it. Did I mention that the uplay servers were broken yesterday? And some of today? The best part is that I ended up losing some of the cards I had unlocked. Multiplayer is frustrating (because you'll be playing against the people who bought IAP) and very unrewarding. If your opponent quits, you get nothing. Even if you win, you get very little.

A promising game that is made frustrating and disgusting by trying to hold back parts of it until you fork over extra cash. The app is on sale for $0.99 right now, but good luck trying to assemble a themed deck without paying $10 or more.

Assassin's Creed Recollection was an unexpected surprise. Thanks to its mix of strategy and time-based experience, the game offers innovative mechanics that will make happy both the fans of Ezio Auditore and the TCG enthusiasts.

This is one of the best trading-card games in the AppStore. But you're forced to buy new cards via microtransactions much too early – you can't even finish the campaign without some additional booster packs.

A nifty card game let down by a constant nagging to spend more cash on extra decks. [March 2012, p.99]
