  1. Though it's a bit brief, Assault Squadron is one of the best-looking and best-playing shooters on the App Store.
  2. Jan 27, 2011
Assault Squadron easily stacks up with any space shooter I have played on the PS3 or 360 in the past few years, both in visuals and in gameplay.
  3. 80
Assault Squadron isn't as nuanced as some of the real shmup classics, but it's still an intense challenge waiting to be conquered and mastered by veteran fans.
  4. Jan 27, 2011
Assault Squadron is a fantastic game. While I personally prefer twitchier controls, most players will not find them to be an issue so this concern really should be considered more of a personal preference.
  5. 70
Assault Squadron is a great attempt at the "bullet hell" shoot 'em up genre from outside of its homeland, and is impressive from a technical standpoint, but a shoot 'em up with uncomfortable controls is a shoot 'em up that should be approached with caution.
  6. 65
Assault Squadron has all of the ingredients necessary for a good shooter except the most critical: tight controls.
  7. An all-out attack on the eyes, Assault Squadron is a slick shooter that's too short for its own good.

An awesome shoot em up that revitalises a stagnating genre. Slick graphics, smooth gameplay and hours of fun. Find myself constantly starting up a game whenever I'm waiting in a line or on a bus. Expand
