Atari's Greatest Hits is absolutely one of the very best buys in the App Store.
Overall, the scope of Atari's Greatest Hits is amazing. It's certainly the best emulator on the App Store for content and presentation. If there were more control options or a modified version for the 2600 games then the package would be perfect.
It's a great overall package which, for the most part, feels like it's been built as much as a personal passion of one man and his love of retro, than simply a product for consumption by iOS gamers.
But even with the 2600 stuff taken out of the equation, nine quid for the whole lot is reasonable value, and if you're only interested in certain titles, you can buy each one in 59p packs.
Instead of throwing a bundle of randomly selected titles at classic gamers, Atari's Greatest Hits lets you choose what you want to play; games this old don't always age gracefully, but they're given a lot of respect in this emulation collection.
It's true these old games have a limited appeal, but simply slapping them on the latest devices does them nothing but a disservice. It's a shame.
A huge disappointment, where not even Bluetooth support for select games can save it.
