With frantic action, Bloodstroke manages to perfectly evoke John Woo's explosively entertaining take on Hong Kong cinema.
At its core, Bloodstroke is an unapologetic and noirish journey through Woo’s universe. Its streets may be bathed in black and white, but after a few rounds as Lotus, all you’ll be seeing is red.
So even though the game might be a little too easy at times with a score system that greatly favors your melee attacks over your weapon-based ones, Bloodstroke is still a bloody and beautiful good time.

Bloodstroke is promising on the surface, but is much too shallow to recommend making it one to skip as it never evolves beyond the mindless simplicities. In the end, it’s a simplified version of Samurai II, which is a much better game to pick-up.
A lightweight, odd action game that never makes you feel part of the fun, Bloodstroke is too muddled to really recommend.
Bloodstroke is a stylized collection of half-realized ideas that don't quite live up to their potential.
