Coco Loco may have fallen to the wayside as another Angry Birds clone if it weren't for the obvious love and polish that went into practically every aspect of the game. The graphics absolutely pop on the iPad (the game is universal, so it works on the iPod and iPhone as well), and the liquid and gel physics behave exactly as one would expect.

Coco Loco isn't a strikingly original game, even without the checklist of familiar interface elements, but it is one of the most thoroughly solid and entertaining physics puzzle games I've played in some time.

The game is easy on the eyes, with detailed stages full of visually appealing treats. We don't know what's in that jelly, but we'd certainly like some.

With its confectionery theme felt throughout, Coco Loco is an interesting take on a familiar genre that even offers a few nice twists on the old formula.

An enjoyable physics flinger with a funny premise and lots of variety. You also get to sumo butt-stomp for purposes of carnage.

Coco Loco doesn't reinvent the physics puzzler, but it adds a honeyed style of its own to arguably the most popular genre of game on iOS.

Even so, it's well worth checking out for players who would be interested in a different spin on the Angry Birds formula.

Coco Loco won't make you forget Angry Birds, but it'll keep you entertained while you're waiting for more feathered physics puzzles.

Coco Loco is an interesting creature for sure, as it's not quite good enough to knock those perturbed birds off their perch but it is good enough and fleshed out enough to warrant a cheap download. The game is especially worth it if you're a huge fan of these types of games and can't stand the wait for Angry Birds Space.

When it excels, Coco Loco is a showcase for its developer, but it slips back too quickly into comfortable routines and safe choices.
