This sequel either improves on or extends the original in every way.
Defender Chronicles II: Heroes of Athelia offers something more than the first episode, though it's got the same, solid gameplay. The animations are still choppy, but the overall experience is really enjoyable.
Very simple, not hugely original, but extremely compelling tower defence fare.
People that missed the first title will get their hands on this and find it to be extremely unique, and people that loved Defender Chronicles for being great in 2009 will get more of what they liked.
Defender Chronicles II offers lots of loot and skills, but the RPG elements don't necessarily make a good tower defense game better.
As an iOS title that offers literally dozens and dozens of hours of engrossing entertainment, it is hard not to recommend Defender Chronicles II: Heroes of Athelia to avid fans of the tower defense genre.
Tower defense fans and those who liked the first game should find more than enough content to keep themselves busy. While the first game stood out however, this sequel suffers from some of the design pitfalls we've seen in the TD genre.
