This was a great first effort from a developer that shows real talent and promise. At the very least, they deserve a chance to show us what else they can do.

dream:scape is less of a game and more of an interactive novel; several bugs currently let the game down, but the narrative is still touching enough to play out to completion.

You could get away with this kind of guff in 1994 when we were all thrilled just to have justification for the £180 we'd shelled out for a CD-ROM add-on. Walking around a 3D tech demo was interactive! And immersive!

For a game so brimming with potential, dream:scape couldn't have been less fun. Don't let the trailers and the screenshots fool you – this one has stinkeroo written all over it. You'd have more fun using your favourite iOS device as a paperweight.

dream:scape weaves a compelling tale, but it's a real slog to reach the finish. Promising, but ultimately disappointing.

Dream:scape is an immersive and intriguing mystery/ adventure game that will keep you playing to the end.

Dream:scape is so close to being amazing that it's hard for me to say this, but the problems just killed what enjoyment I would have otherwise had.

If you want an audiovisual experience with a good story dream:scape is definitely recommended. As a game it lacks challenge, action and precise controls. It is better to view it as an interactive novel with slight puzzle elements than a game.
