  • Summary: In Edna & Harvey: The Breakout, Edna wakes up in the padded cell of an insane asylum with no memory of her past or how she ended up there. Only one thing is for certain: She has been wrongfully imprisoned and will have to escape! After all, she feels entirely sane - and her speaking stuffed toy bunny Harvey wholeheartedly agrees. Together they undertake a daring breakout attempt, meeting up with numerous oddball inmates, like the Man in the Bee's Costume or Siamese twins Hoti and Moti. But Dr. Marcel, the sinister head of the institute, will do everything in his power to stop Edna. What evil scheme is afoot? Slowly Edna begins to regain her memories of the past... Expand

An adventure game that's accessible to those who haven't dared to play adventure games before. It's easy enough to pick up and learn, and the story will keep you wanting more. It's also a lengthy game, so you will have plenty of time to get involved in the characters and the world of Edna and Harvey.

Edna & Harvey: The Breakout is very much a traditional point and click adventure. The puzzles are sometimes bizarre and infuriating, but the story keeps you playing on, with much owing to its original tale.

Balance in Adventure games is a difficult thing to get right and Edna and Harvey manages this for part of the game but falls flat just as it gets going. But it's worth persevering and solving these tricky puzzles to find out just where the game will take you next, which is where Edna and Harvey scores points.
  4. Aug 15, 2012
In the end what matters most is how fun, and stimulating a game is. Sadly Edna & Harvey demands a bit too much tapping about on everything, as the puzzles are a bit too illogical at times.

If you are a fan of puzzle games, specifically these type of trapped room games, you will likely get quite a bit of enjoyment out of Edna and Harvey. Just make sure you go into it with a patient attitude and a desire to explore every aspect of the game, because that is definitely what is asked of players. This is not a game for those of you who are easily frustrated.

A bright and humorous point-and-click adventure with excellent dialogue but frustrating gameplay - just like they used to make 'em.
  7. Aug 9, 2012
The unfortunate fact is that Edna & Harvey's best achievements (a deep script, engaging characters and unrivaled interactivity) end up buried beneath a frustrating adventure game, one that's fashioned from over-worked puzzling and meandering dialogue that fails to make a clean separation between depth of story and rewarding gaming.

Very humorous Lucas Arts style game. Great characters, great setting, great voice acting. Game is very long and has a lot of content. Lots of bang for your buck for only 3 dollars. Expand
