Players that don’t mind waiting for that energy recharge will probably love this game. Aside from the controls, there is not much else to show fault with. The solid graphics and sound, combined with the depth of upgrades and achievements make this a great turn-based fighting game.

It’s just a shame (to a rather significant degree) that so much of what’s meant to keep players playing is implemented so poorly.

There isn’t much of a game to be had with Epic Mech Wars. The characters and art style don’t reflect a deeper story, and there is little reason to continue other than to watch progress bars progress. I am usually a sucker for mech customization games, but Epic Mech Wars shows that some giant mech suits are only skin deep.
