A dull RPG that never should have seen the light of day.

Eternal Legacy reaches for the stars and, while coming close, is hampered by the difficulty, sound and script. If Gameloft can improve upon these factors for a sequel on the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch , they will have a definite hit on their hands.

A highly formulaic role-playing game, Eternal Legacy has some redeeming qualities that support limited enjoyment.

Eternal Legacy brings a combat system which is classic and works well, impressive graphics and a very dense and long story. Of course it would have been better with a more original and genuine style, as well as a major depth of the characters and a deeper plot. But for just 5€ iPhone users can enjoy a game which is, together with Chaos Rings, one of the best JRPG's on the App Store.

So, yeah. It's a riff on Final Fantasy XIII. But it's a very good one and something any RPG fan will enjoy, especially at a very attractive price.

Eternal Legacy has the visuals and gameplay features of a Final Fantasy, but sometimes there's no substitute for the real thing.

Ultimately, Eternal Legacy by Gameloft is one of the most graphically pleasing RPG's on the appstore at the moment. It is a well made J-RPG that boasts umpteen hours of gameplay between the main quest and the side quests, even if those side quests are hard to find.

Eternal Legacy tries to give JRPG fans exactly what they want, but obvious influences aside it fails to deliver an experience on par with titles that are already extremely outdated; definitely one for the fans.

If you are looking for a competent clone of current JRPGs on console, then you have come to the right place. Just don't expect it to push the envelope any further than is ultimately necessary. Sadly, the curse of developers choosing to "play it safe" may have just claimed another victim.

The interface is expertly designed to work with a touch-screen, the graphics are fantastic, and the game itself is undeniably fun.

Sometimes, the fakes can be better than the real games. In the instance of Eternal Legacy, a ripoff from the Final Fantasy series, this is certainly the case. For a turn based game, this could be one of the top choices for your ipad, iphone, or even android. While the game doesn't excel in terms of combat, and you can beat it easily once you can understand its mechanics, the story of the game and the in game advantages should be taken into account. The environment the game is based in changes frequently, with high tech cities to rain forests and deserts. The player also experiences quit a bonding with the main character and his girlfriend as the game progresses. Overall, a great game and worth trying it out. Full Review »

It's a fun Japanese style RPG. I have fun playing it, but not my top choice on RPG on the iphone the best is Aralon!! Check Aralon out. The fighting, the graphics, the character models, and the voice acting is all japanese style, so if you like phantasy star universe this is the game for you. Full Review »
