What Extraction has done is to find a way to boil down the normally complex shooter controls down to simple commands that can be issued seamlessly with one finger.

Not only is Extraction: Project Outbreak rewarding but it brings a terrific control scheme to a well paced action game on the iPad that simply works without having onscreen buttons cluttering your view.

A great game worthy of a play through. If you have any interest in top down shooters, and you're a fan of extensive unlockables, check it out.

Extraction: Project Outbreak lays the groundwork for what could be an exciting top-down tactical shooter campaign, but aside from the tight controls and great level designs, it's easy to find yourself in a repetitive funk.

Slick and polished action-shooter. A little repetitive, but great fun when the different elements fit together.

Utilizing an interesting one-touch input method to dispatch the undead, Extraction employs a stylish presentation that's both easy to manage and fun to play.

The framework is here for a truly great game, then, but it's the need to lengthen - and, for some players, monetise - the campaign that stops ShortRound's debut from living up to its obvious potential.

Still, this is a solid title, with plenty of potential. In short bursts it's a lot of fun, and it can be genuinely tense when you're out of ammo and fleeing through a decaying prison while zombies go after your blood.
