A tribute to beat'em up classics with a really good control scheme and loads of content to unlock. There are some modes missing, but so far is worth a try.

Despite an over-reliance on in-app purchases, Fightback is easily one of the coolest and most intense side-scrolling fighters on iOS.
  3. Jan 8, 2014
Despite the annoyingly overt focus on trying to get players to spend money, the core fighting system here is terrific enough to make it recommendable to lovers of old school brawlers.
  4. Dec 19, 2013
There’s a lot of junk out there that isn’t worth the time of day, but Fightback delivers a few more punches than expected.
  5. Jan 2, 2014
Fightback is one of the few brawlers that really takes advantage of touch controls for a unique and satisfying combat system.
  6. Dec 29, 2013
That's really Fightback in a nutshell. It's a fun game, it's an amusing game, but it never leaves me craving more.
  7. Feb 28, 2014
Fightback is as straightforward as its name, and equally dull.
  8. Jan 22, 2014
    Dull, linear, repetitious and microtransaction-oriented.
  9. Jan 6, 2014
Fightback’s base combat is entertaining enough, but its reliance on a pay-to-win model dramatically overshadows its gameplay.
  10. Dec 31, 2013
Fightback is a game that will let you have some fun, but for only less than ten minutes at a time, and only if your character's stats and gear are up to date
  11. Dec 30, 2013
The problem with Fightback is that if you don’t actually want to spend more of your own money, there is little in the game that is going to make you want to wait and come back later.
  12. Dec 27, 2013
Fightback is the perfect example of how to demolish a potentially good game with an excessive amount of in-app purchases.
  13. Dec 23, 2013
A wonderful game that's battered into submission by an overbearing payment scheme, Fightback has the moves, but it uses them all wrongly.
  14. Dec 22, 2013
Fightback is a waste of time and money. As a full premium game for a buck or two, it could have been a decent brawler to pass the time with. But as it stands, you're going to be waiting to play it more than actually playing it. At the end of the day, this is just another depressing chapter in the book of Ninja Theory.

The game comes first, not the business model. [March 2014, p.85]
