    As an experiment is a total failure. It's boring and repetitive, and its in-app purchase system is sometimes abusive. No matter if you like the series or not, there are better other options out there.

    Final Fantasy: All the Bravest is a game that only longtime fans could love, and only because it's a sprite and music dump of past titles. At the same time, it's a slap in the face of those fans with its shameless in-app purchases.

    Fun and simple mechanics, pixelated retro charm and nostalgic music. This could be a fun little distraction if it weren't because the game is full of in app purchases, so much that this has to be the most greedy attempt on grabbing players money seen in a long time. Too bad.

    Without the in-app purchases, Final Fantasy: All The Bravest would feel a little flimsy. With them, it just feels tacky.

    In 2013, as publishers finally begin to tread the waters of micro-transactions a little more carefully, and with a sensitive eye on the balance between player experience and profitability, this is how Square Enix chooses to reward that devotion, commitment and support of a franchise over all of these years. Depressing is a word too.

    Due to its insulting in-game purchases and inexcusably mindless & repetitive gameplay, this is a very disappointing black mark on Square-Enix's long-running franchise.

    Rather than offering fun fan service, All the Bravest is little more than an insidious attempt to prey on nostalgia — and waste your time doing it.

    This loose fragment of fan-service is priced as a Vita game and designed as a low-end iOS game. Square’s use of IAPs wouldn’t be a good model even if it were free-to-play. With the premium attached, All the Bravest is simply anti-consumer. It’s a big waste of a good opportunity to streamline.

    You really can't feel angry or offended playing All the Bravest, a giant insult to any fan of the Final Fantasy series.

    Square Enix has finally embraced the free-to-play model with Final Fantasy: All the Bravest, in what is almost a parody of the worst examples of free-to-play games.

    This is a game with only two gameplay features: tap the screen and give Square money. It's true that the music is great and the nostalgia value is off the charts, but neither of these things justify a release that is little more than a blatant cash grab.

    What could have been a pleasant trip down memory lane is merely a facade, and I have a hard time calling it a game at all. How does the same company that gave us Chaos Rings II give us this?

    ATB was disappointing enough in the fact that it's not a real RPG, but it's downright appalling when you think about the fact that it's simply a cash-grab. For everyone but the most stalwart FF fans (and I implore even them): this trip down memory lane isn't worth it.

    Seconds of gameplay, with potentially hours of waiting - this is freemium brought to its horrifying and expensive end point, squandering any potential All The Bravest has.

    Final Fantasy All the Bravest is not really a game. It's a cash delivery system, with you playing as the courier, your money the cargo, and Square Enix the unpaying recipient. After years of trying to monetize videogames, Square Enix has now moved on to monetizing customers themselves. It's cut out the irritating middle man that is the videogame, and found a way to simply get people to hand over money in exchange for nothing. That is what All the Bravest is. It's nothing. It's air. It's a thought.

    One of the worst video games of all-time, although to even classify it as interactive entertainment is to flatter this most appalling of Final Fantasy spin-offs.

    The stupid battles, in which you strike over the touchpad like a lobotomized baboon until you are forced to a break, serve only one purpose: To make as much money over in-app-purchases as possible.

    This "game" is so insulting that i registered an account just so that people knew what it's all about. A game should have decisions, that's what games are about: you make decisions, learn patterns, execute them, make strategies and overall just have plain fun! That's all what All The Bravest is not.

    The game is intended to be a battle game only, but all you do is swipe your finger over and over, no decisions at all, whichever character you choose makes no difference whatsoever so you don't even have an strategy when you enter the battle. The team disposition is entirely random, the attacks are entirely random, you can't equip items because yep, that's entirely random, and to get even worse you're from time to time wiped out of the screen and has to either buy your way back or wait for a long period to play again. This just doesn't make sense!

    Even the things you buy in the store follow this idea: the premium characters which give a little bit more damage(and because of that they take more time to recharge and attack again) are just cosmetic pieces, because in the end they're the same as the regular characters. And the worlds that you buy which are the same price as the game itself don't add anything to the "game"!

    Square Enix was just following the fad of Facebook games and made this game so that they could get money from its fan base. But it's so so insulting that even facebook cashgames like farmville you can "lose" the game if you don't come back in a certain period of time, but this game doesn't even do that... you some hour of the "game" WILL die and will have to wait OR buy your way back.

    It's insulting in a way that the game is balanced so that you lose the sub boss battles and the boss battles(unless you grind which is insane because grinding usually isn't fun so imagine here...), so you figure that they had a game designer creating a game SPECIFICALLY this way so that they could sell things.

Then, I realized that I wasn't the player, I was the game and that the player was actually Square Enix as they try to figure out how low they can set the bar on what is a game and still make money. Min/Maxing to the max! This is almost the Walmart of game design. Rock bottom gameplay with high, high prices.

    With their other recent IOS games, I'm guessing that their next new title will just be a picture of a Black Mage that you press with your finger and it makes a click sound. You can buy additional random click sounds for $0.99. The special chocobo sound will be $3.99.
