Mobile game sequels are hit or miss, as some developers just slap a new skin on an older game. Halfbrick did that with one of the game's modes, but the Bandito mode as well as the humor in the Puss in Boots character makes this version unique. If you played the original, the new mode is worth the purchase, and if you never experienced Fruit Ninja, Puss in Boots is the perfect way to get started.
While remaining very similar to its predecessor, the Puss In Boots version brings with it an exciting new game mode that makes the sequel a worthwhile pick-up.
It's a very good game that's a lot of fun. It's just that the original offers pretty much the exact same experience with a lot more content and modes. If someone already owns Fruit Ninja, I can't really think of a reason why they'd also want this version. Unless they're a huge fan of the movie or the actor, anyway.
Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots shows how to make movie tie-in's work without being overbearing; Bandito mode brings a real Arcade flair to the original Fruit Ninja formula, while thematic touches give the game charm.
If Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots is any indicator of where the Fruit Ninja series is heading in future installments, I for one am excited.
While it adds a great new game mode, Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots doesn't quite have enough extra content to make it essential.
Other than the ability to watch the trailer for the film, there isn't much different about Fruit Ninja: Puss In Boots. As far as fruit-ninjaing goes, stick with the original.
