The depth of content and similarities to past space titles may be tempting, but even its dazzling display of stars and planets can't make up for the lack of worthwhile gameplay.

Not only is it highly recommended among its app store peers, it stands well alongside much more expensive console games as well.

With the myriad of sidequests and things to do, this game will keep you playing for more than 10 hours. A thoroughly enjoyable, entertaining experience.

Galaxy on Fire 2 HD is one step closer to a full console quality game on your iOS device and a title any new iPhone 4S owner should have in their collection.

Galaxy on Fire 2: HD really takes full advantage of the A5 chip and the retina display of the iPhone 4S. The graphics are clean and crisp which make for some excellent dog fights with pirates and aliens.

Has some great content, and the genre is one of my favorites. Who doesn't like flying around the Galaxy blowing stuff up with pretty nebulae, and planets everywhere? The problem is that there is a very low amount of actual game play. After you complete the main story, and finish the very few side missions, buy the best ship, and upgrade it with the best equipment, all of which is rather easy and fast to achieve, the game just runs out of anything worthwhile to do. Worst of all is that after you have visited all the solar systems the game starts to feel very small, and restricting which is very odd for a game where you are flying around the galaxy. If they expanded the galaxy and added a lot more content, and things worth exploring I would love this game, because the base content is very enjoyable, but there is less content here than almost any game I have ever played. So sad :( Expansion pack might fix this, but so far it is not available on PC, so have to wait and see. Worth playing if you can get it for around $10 otherwise avoid. Full Review »
