Heroes of Destiny is a free to play action rpg that remains fun in spite of its money-making model.

We're stilling waiting for someone to deliver the next true Battleheart, and do so without a freemium structure underpinning everything, but until that time comes Heroes of Destiny makes for a great stop-gap.

Of course it’s only natural to expect some form of time-based gating when dealing with a free-to-play game. And as far as I’m concerned Heroes of Destiny does a great job of keeping those gates from becoming a huge problem. It’s full of loot and characters to acquire and upgrade, so there’s plenty of reason to keep playing for quite a while. And of course it’s fun to play. There’s always that.

A concise and enjoyable action RPG-lite with an irritating - but not deal-breaking - IAP system.

    Worth a tentative look. [June 2013, p.85]

This is a complete, very interesting game that may keep us playing for a long while. However, you have to keep in mind that the game is mainly focused on in-app purchases, even though it's possible spend more time playing to get the same results.
