A more refined beast than its predecessor, Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7 is a fitting end to the boy wizard's adventures.

Sure, Years 5-7 looks good visually, but the switch to a virtual gamepad along with the issues mentioned above deter the game from being better. As it is, the Lego gameplay is intact, meaning that fans of the series should continue to enjoy it.

Everything you've enjoyed about both Harry Potter and the wonderful Lego series of games can be found here: the exploration, the intricate puzzles built into the very fabric of the world, and a chance to savour the world of Potter and friends just one more time. It may not be the best use of the brand, but there's still plenty to be had for existing fans.

It's frustrating to see the controls form such a pivotal step backwards for LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7. Other than that, it's a great way of playing a highly enjoyable game for a much lower price than through console means.
