Little Brainiac Vehicles is a collection of vehicles with which a child may be familiar. Things like: police car, boat, and motorcycle, etc.

The inspiration for Little Braniac came from my three daughters, ages 2, 3, and 4. They frequently saw me playing games on my iPhone and wanted to play, but the games were much too difficult for them, so I decided to create this simple game for my girls.

Little Brainiac is a multiple choice interface using familiar images, words, and sounds. The child is presented with a word and four pictures. They can touch the mouth icon to hear the word spoken if they are not able to read or recognize the word. And, if applicable, they can touch the ear icon to hear a sound that is associated with the word. For example, a barking sound is used for the word "Dog". For correct answers, they are rewarded with a gold star as well as applause. For incorrect answers the child is encouraged to try again with an auditory cue. Your child will love the bright pictures, interesting sounds and have fun while also learning to read!

My favorite moment with this game was watching my daughter play the game with the sound muted. She knows the alphabet but still isn't reading yet. She was able to recognize the first letter of the word "Snake" and made the connection that "Snake" starts with S and then selected the correct answer. She wasn't even using the spoken word auditory cues. I was a proud daddy that day.

This application works great to reinforce learning, object recognition, reading, problem solving and serves as a basic brain teaser for young children. This app is great for learning and serves as an exciting alternative to the monotony of manual flash cards.

I hope you can have as much fun watching your kids grow and learn with this application as I am.
