I don't think it's as fun as other iOS laserdisc ports like Road Blaster [$4.99/HD] and Cobra Command [$6.99], but Mad Dog McCree does a solid job at translating the gunslinging action of the arcade original to the touchscreen of iOS. If you're a fan of the source material, then you should be pretty satisfied with this port.

As enormously flawed as ever, yet curiously enjoyable with it, Mad Dog McCree feels oddly at home on the App Store.

Mad Dog McCree is only for those with fond memories of the original. It is priced way too high to warrant a purchase for anyone not familiar with the game. At $0.99 it could have been a glimpse back in nostalgia. Mad Dog McCree brought something new twenty years ago, and that is exactly how tired and old it feels.

This game should be buried on Boot Hill, rather than sold in the App Store.
