Taken as a whole, My Muppets Show is charming and addictive. Not even Statler and Waldorf will find much to tear apart here—though they’ll certainly try.

My Muppets Show plays a familiar tune, but Jim Henson's creations make all the difference.

Unless you’re a huge fan of The Muppets, you’re better off with one of the many other sim games that execute this format with a bit more subtlety.

While there is certainly enough classic Muppets characters to please any fan for a short while, the longevity of this game is dependent upon how long you are willing to grind. Similar to games like The Simpsons: Tapped Out, collecting all of your favorite characters and customizing the stage is going to require you to collect coins and then wait on timers to set things up. Because of this the game does obviously want you to spend real life money on micro-transactions to speed things up. Thankfully you can play the entire game without spending any real money, but that just means that progress is going to be slower. As someone who was just looking for something to pick up and play around with a bit on the go, this didn't bother me. However this will undoubtedly irritate many gamers, because without buying micro-transactions the game becomes more or less just checking up on it every now and then instead of actually sitting down and playing it for an hour or two. Again this didn't really bother me as I knew what to expect, but others may want to avoid for that simple reason. Still, it's worth a look for Muppets fans. It's free-to-play so you're not losing anything by just checking it out. Expand
