I was so pleased to find that the core experience of the game is still there, big heads and all.

With crisp graphics, great sound (mainly in the form of the excellent commentary), and surprisingly playable gameplay, NBA Jam for the iPhone is well worth picking up, even if (or perhaps especially if) you're not a basketball fan.

If you're a fan of the series or just fancy a great Basketball game with a sense of humour, then NBA Jam scores a 3 pointer. It's Boomshakalakin'.

Simply a must buy for sports fans, other iPhone owners should give it a shot too.

A faithful interpretation of the exhilarating game we remember from our youth, NBA JAM brings all the sound, fury, and raw excitement that one can expect from a manic, larger-than-life game of monster dunks and fiery hoops.

A wonderfully updated version of the classic arcade game. It's missing some features, most notably a multiplayer component, but the single player offering is more than competent and a lot of fun.

This portable version of NBA Jam is simply awesome. The game comes with an excellent classic gameplay, fantastic graphics and sounds, lots of achievements and extras to unlock and a very solid career mode. At this moment it lacks a multiplayer mode, so we hope EA will add it in a future update.

This is the epitome of arcade gaming distilled into its purest form. It truly has to be seen to be believed.

NBA Jam is a great basketball game, period. EA did a fantastic job translating its manic pace to the iPhone without getting tripped up by virtual controls.

One of the iPhone's greatest and most impressive sports games we've played.

Aside from its unfortunate lack of two-player options, this is a complete package that controls beautifully and has production values that could easily rival that of the Wii version's. Even if you're not a huge NBA fan, this is a basketball game that can stand on its own based purely on the fun offered by its mechanics.

NBA Jam is one slammin', jammin' ball game, but where's the multiplayer?

Even as a solo game, NBA Jam is incredibly fun. The top-notch visual style, quality controls, and fast-paced gameplay make it a sports game that action or arcade gamers will love as well.

If you loved the original or you're even slightly intrigued by this whacky basketball title, then I heartily recommend NBA JAM, but the lack of a multiplayer feature can be a sore point.

If it wasn't for the lack of multiplayer and the little details I mentioned, this would have definitely been a perfect game. For now though, it is without a doubt, a Boomshakalaka!

Only the two-player mode lets it down. [May 2011, p.95]

The controls take some time to get used to, and your teammate can occasionally be a ballhog, but overall this version of NBA jam can be a really fun game. Full Review »
