Paper Monsters is one of those rare games that come along once in a blue moon. It's more fun than a night out with friends, and as flawless as diamonds. For lack of a better word, it's perfect. Everyone should play this.

    An incredible experience.

A pleasant surprise that blends elements from classic and current platforming games and achieves great results. It may result in a short, or too easy game for expert players, but its gameplay is delightful.

Paper Monsters comes with a good number of levels, two extra modes, a decent level design and nice graphics. If you like platform games you might like this one.

Mixing a kid-friendly style with terrific graphics and solid gaming elements, Paper Monsters is both approachable and charming.

It's tough to find serious fault with Paper Monsters. It's a well-crafted and enjoyable platformer that's worth $0.99. If we had to put a finger on one thing that bugs us, it's that Crescent Moon Games didn't go above and beyond what we've seen before, but that's a small issue in comparison to the much bigger picture. Quality title and well worth your time.

Paper Monsters keeps things simple, yet fun, making it a great game for younger or more casual audiences.
  8. Jan 26, 2012
It seems the developers set out to make a throwback to some of their favorite old-school platformers, with awesome graphics and solid controls, and at this they completely succeed with Paper Monsters.
  9. Jan 26, 2012
Paper Monsters falls short of greatness, but it's mostly a solid platformer.
  10. Jan 27, 2012
It's not groundbreaking, but I can think of worse ways to spend $0.99.

Paper Monsters is a beautiful, imaginative, and charming, and technically proficient platformers that's only let down by less than stellar gameplay.

The imaginative artdesign with its paperfolding antics feels fresh. Unfortunately you can't say the same for Paper Monsters' core mechanics with its simple jump-&-run gameplay that you've seen a million times.

While there's no denying that the core platforming is pleasant and the visuals are a cut above the majority of iOS games, Crescent Moon's charming little game lacks the creativity its presentation suggests is going to be bursting from every seam. Fun while it lasts, but a little too safe to be considered one of the genre's best on iOS.

All in all though, as good looking and charming as it is, it needs a little more imagination. And for a game who's main character is a cardboard box and lives in a land of paper, that's saying something.

Aside from being derivative, and more than a little dull, there's nothing wrong with Paper Monsters.
