Developers have been consistently improving upon touch-based platformer controls on the iPhone and Pizza Boy offers a wonderful continuation of that trend with a large, yet unobtrusive control panel forming the bottom of the screen.

Pizza Boy is what platforming should feel like most if not all the time and even with the small selection of levels it's a fun game to play.
  3. Feb 27, 2011
Pizza Boy is a wonderful retro game for your iPhone, cribbing extensively from Super Mario World but putting a few of its own stamps on the classic platformer.
  4. Feb 27, 2011
Pizza Boy may be short, but it kept us entertained the whole way through.
  5. Feb 27, 2011
Great design for a good platformer, but sadly to short.
  6. Feb 27, 2011
While it doesn't win any awards for originality, Pizza Boy is a well-executed, if too short, tribute to classic 2D platform gaming.

Pizza Boy looks, feels and plays like a true Nintendo NES or SNES game. One of the best iOS platform control scheme is on offer here and actually makes the game feel like you're playing an arcade platformer with physical buttons; time those jumps, avoid them enemies and be sure to the reach the end of the level with enough pickups to warrant a decent result screen. Donkey Kong style lettering collectibles for P I Z Z A and the optional cat item rescue on every level adds depth and tickles your mind as you back and play the level again. The difficulty level is a little uneven though so for that it gets an 7, would have been a 9 otherwise. Expand
