There are mini quests and epic missions with major bosses to defeat at the end of each world. Even though coins and gems can be bought with in-app purchases, players can get far without having to buy anything.
Pocket Army is a simple but terribly addictive action game. Once you complete a mission, you can spend your money to buy units, upgrades, weapons and even special powers in order to beat the next enemies. And that's a lot of fun.
Pocket Army isn't a game I'd recommend to someone looking for a deep, interesting strategy title. But if you someone who's comfortable investing hours into a grind for a treadmill of upgrades and a game that, while shallow, gets more interesting the more time you put in, then you should probably get started.
