It's not quite the experience the first game was, but it comes awfully close, and that's enough to put it in the top tier of shoot-em-ups on the App Store.
R-Type II is a game developed by DotEmu. The game features a retro graphics and a high level of difficulty, which at times makes the application frustrating. The game features a good longevity and original graphics, all at an affordable price and without in-app purchases.
Some throwbacks don’t have to thrive on pure nostalgia, and thankfully R-Type II is a shooter that keeps all its guns firing on all cylinders.
R-Type II provides yet more old-school shmup action with vital controller support and a particularly masochistic streak.
A wonderfully crafted love letter to R-Type II which is let down by its touchscreen control schemes.
