Raid Leader can be frustrating due to the controls, and its length is a bit disappointing, but it's an interesting experience. Strategy fans might want to check this out – it's a bit different than what they might expect, but it might just appeal to a certain player.

In its current form, it seems like more of a test case than a fully finished product since many of the bosses are repeats and the special abilities earned don't share common levels of functionality. The graphics are nothing to write home about, either. However, taking those things into account, Raid Leader still offers a unique experience and presents some ideas that I would love to see expanded on in the future.

If you're only a casual fan of the genre, then you likely won't get much value out of the game. The truth is, unless some changes are made so that the game features more cohesive storytelling, there are a lot of better applications on the App Store for you to spend your money on.

Raid Leader is a short burst of fun for those nostalgic (or aching for their next hit) of 'raiding' in larger MMOs; the process of condensation has also limited the experience, but the lack of real 'leveling' and jumping straight to the boss encounters themselves may be attractive all on its own.

Raid Leader feels like it had the groundwork laid for a much better game laid until the developers got bored partway through the development process. It's not exactly bad, but it's just not really deep or exciting enough to recommend wholeheartedly. That said, based on the solid fundamentals, I'll be very interested in seeing what else Red Zebra Games puts out in the future.

Raid Leader's MMO boss battles are well thought out but poorly executed.
