Adventurous gamers who have been waiting for a new, open gaming experience should play this game.
Return to Castlerama is an interesting journey inside an attractive and mysterious land, but the gameplay elements lack consistence and coherence with the game world.
While committed adventure game fans might be able to excuse some of Return to Castlerama's many faults, most gamers will not be satisfied by wandering around picking up scrolls.
While a few of the later environments are nice to explore, the bafflingly bad controls will dissuade you from even wanting to, and the lack of any clear direction or purpose as an adventure game makes Return to Castlerama better rolled up in another scroll and left somewhere where no one is going to read it.
A stunningly poor game, Return to Castlerama feels utterly unfinished.
