Barring an incredible odd decision to force players to stay online to play it, Rhythm Thief & The Paris Caper is one of the best rhythm games on the mobile market right now.
Rhythm Thief & the Paris Caper is a near-perfect rhythm game held back only by its persistent social integration and always-on connectivity requirements.
It may be an abridged version of a classic 3DS game, but Rhythm Thief & The Paris Caper holds its own and is both a charming and enjoyable rhythm game.
Rhythm Thief & the Paris Caper has a couple of kinks in the program but it’s still a delightful little game to play, which will definitely eat up many hours of your time.
Rhythm Thief & The Paris Caper brings some cool ideas to the card/battle system, but ultimately Phantom R's bold antics and swaying rhythm feels like a mediocre fit for the genre at best.
The original 3DS game is sacrificed on the altar of microtransactions and grubby monetisation, almost erasing any sense of fun in the process.
All but shorn of their narrative context, the missions can feel rather inconsequential, disconnected from the truncated plot and lacking the variety and invention of some of the 3DS game’s later missions.
