Bung in a vexation-defeating undo and an AI that amusingly flat-out lies during proceedings and you've got an essential iOS action-puzzler.

Robot5 HD certainly doesn't have any substantial shortcomings, and is indeed a challenging, polished product that almost feels like it could be a home console game.

Make no qualms about it, this is a great puzzle game for iOS. The world is gorgeous, the puzzles difficult, and the story interesting. Gamers looking for a puzzle game that finally breaks the mold, has quite a bit of character, and can adjust to the controls will find a great value in this title.

Along with quite a number of stellar box-climbing puzzles, Robo5 boasts a compelling story about a robot seeking its identity. It also has a visual style that's downright charming, in a steampunk sort of way.

The story in Robo5 may not make you think, but the puzzles sure will.

Robo5's excellent presentation and challenging puzzles are undone by awkward and unresponsive controls.
