Most of us would have read these lines in our senior secondaries. They definitely send a chill down our spines if we think of this royal animal.Unfortunately, our coming generations would not be able to feel the same for the simple fact that would have never seen this beautiful creature in their lives.
Earlier, their habitat stretched from Caucasus and Caspian to the Far East and entire South East Asia. Now their zone of habitat has shrinked remarkably due the climatic changes, illegal poaching practices and captive tiger farming. They are killed for their hide, bones, tail, whiskers, nails. Mind you, all the above reasons are human induced, either explicit or implicit.
Now,it is the time to take some initiative. WWF has announced 2010 as the 'Year of Tiger' and aim at doubling their number by 2022, the next Year of Tiger. Being a party to this mother Earth we should help them achieve their target. It is high time we should start contributing our bit by creating awareness among us about their dwindling numbers.Nothing much, all what is expected of the web users is to come together to show solidarity against the severeness of the situation.
Respective governments would then surely be forced to take up bold steps. We cannot, we just cannot afford to loose one the elegant species of our 3.8 billion year old rich bio-diversity die out.

I have tried my bit now its your turn...

Long live the Panthera Tigris !!
