Shadow Guardian is a great thrill ride. I had a lot of fun reclaiming Jason's memories, tempting gravity while exploring huge tombs, and flirting with the occult when Shadow Guardian turned itself over to the fantastic. If you have a Retina device, Shadow Guardian is a stunner.

Featuring lengthy gameplay and cover-based combat mechanics, Shadow Guardian strives to match Gameloft's most popular shooters but must settle for averageā€¦ which isn't all that bad.

Shadow Guardian is like Uncharted, but without the heart.

While combat needs fine-tuning, the exploration and platform side of Shadow Guardian make it an enjoyable play.

It's easy to pick up and play with a fair spread of checkpoints throughout the levels which works well for the quick bursts required with mobile games.

Great graphics, strong platforming mechanics and a mostly flawed (though sometimes smooth) combat system make Shadow Guardian a tough game to rate.

Sure, there's an occasional boss fight thrown in for good measure, but that's about as interesting as things get. The bosses were probably the most enjoyable part of the game, but overall the experiences with them were brief.
