  • Summary: "Relaxing, stunning, and simple will keep players coming back for more" –148Apps

"Visually, the game is gorgeous. Everything has a soft, ethereal vibe to it, particularly the soothing ambient music and the challenging (but not frustrating) level design" –The Mac

Spirits is an award-winning puzzle game about wind, indirect control and creativity. Guide the spirits towards their destination by using them to manipulate wind, dig tunnels and build bridges of leaves. Find your own creative solution for each of the 40 beautifully hand-drawn levels.

Spirits lets you play at your own pace. Pause the game at any time to get an overview over a level. Try to save as many spirits as possible and pick up the hard-to-get plants to reach a higher world rank. Sound and music are done completely with orchestral musical instruments giving the game a unique poetic feel.

"Where Spirits really innovates is in its look and feel. When the wind physics start to do their thing, the experience is pretty magical."
    –TUAW, Mike Schramm

"Spirits is more than just a pretty face, as you'll utilize little creatures to build ladders, dig tunnels, or blow gusts of wind to get their counterparts to an exit. It's similar to what we've seen in Lemmings or Downstream Panic, but the use of wind and the diverse puzzles keep things fresh and interesting."

    "Striking art and innovative gameplay"
    –The Escapist

"Gorgeous visuals; ambient music; solid level design"

"The overall design -- graphics, animation, audio tracks -- as well as the whimsical element of soaring on the wind, really make this an enjoyable title to experience"

"Spirits is an outstanding blend of puzzle and strategy."
    –DIYgamer, Arsen Nazaryan

"There is so much attention to detail in this game that once you have finished it you will want to play it all over again."

Spirits is very puzzling, well thought-through mind game, you just need to have an open-mind to finish.

Those familiar with Lemmings-style titles will slip in to Spirits without a second thought, though the physics based gameplay adds a new twist that suits the relaxed style perfectly.

No matter which device you prefer Spirits is an excellent game.

New ideas and an attractive presentation enables Spirits to conjure the active puzzle play of Lemmings in a new form.

There are plenty of ways to solve each challenging level and just as many ways to fail, but the fun is all in the trying, figuring out just how to get the spirits to their destination with minimal casualties. It truly is one of the more addicting games I have stumbled upon this year, and I highly encourage anyone who enjoys puzzles and Zen-like experiences to take part in this hypnotic game.

There's a nice soundtrack and a relaxing art direction to be sure, but beyond that, it is a paired down Lemmings clone. For a casual gamer who has never played Lemmings, or if you want a less complex return to Lemmings that requires little concentration to play, this game might be worth a look. Otherwise, the lack of originality is glaring. Expand
