SQUIDS Wild West has a unique mix of action strategy and RPG: build your team of heroes for challenging turn-based battles against corrupted crabs and shrimp! This sequel is even better than the original, with many surprises in store: devious new enemies, four new playable characters, and nearly twice as many levels. It is unbelievable that a game this complex costs only $0.99. It is worth at least three times that much. If you like adventure games mixed with arcade games, then you won't want to miss this.

This game could sell for $35 on the 3DS and it wouldn't be out of place next to the other pieces of software available for the system.

For a ridiculous price, Squids Wild West features an interesting story, great amounts of content and a brilliant strategic-action-rpg hybrid gameplay. Definitely one to pick up.

Squids Wild West may not be a game for those who are hardcore turn-based strategy fans, as the amount of entropy involved in the game does derail some of the careful planning. But for the Angry Birds set looking to get in to a new type of game, Squids Wild West is a fun introduction.

  6. Jul 6, 2012
Featuring a variety of characters in distinct classes, strategic gameplay, and an evil goo to vanquish, Squids Wild West builds upon the original's solid foundation and makes for an even more enjoyable experience.
  7. Jul 2, 2012
This entry of the humorous and charming Squids series improves on the gameplay without making any major changes, while its plot takes on a surprisingly emotional and serious tone.

Fantastic game. I've heard Squids described as "a crossover between Angry Birds and Final Fantasy Tactics", which is a totally apt description, and Squids is a takeoff on neither. It takes the tried and true pull-and-release gameplay and adds such a tactical element to it that the result is utterly brilliant. Squids Wild West is a natural extension of the Squids engine, featuring new graphics, new levels, new characters, and updated gameplay. If anything, this game is more tactical than the last, with excellent boss battles, more tactical one-on-one fights, and even new gameplay mechanics in some of the bonus levels. I despise games that you can play without thinking, and Squids is the opposite of that. Collapse

To me it's more like a cross between pool and sumo wrestling with RPG elements. It's awesome, original, looks beautiful and has tons of character. Play it! Expand
