  • Summary: Stranded! is a desert island survival game set in the Space HoRSE universe.

Four passengers on a space ship were on a mission to colonize a new planet when the ship crash landed on a planet that is almost completely covered by ocean. You are the only survivor - an upper-management executive
from the Decoo corporation, the company that sponsored the original mission.

Now you must use your survival skills to stay alive long enough to get rescued. Build shelter, find food and drink, and collect salvageable parts from the wreckage that wash ashore. Use the parts to build a space radio and call for a rescue team to win the game.

Search for natural resources, then use them to create other items using various combinations.

    Features:
    - Familiar RPG-style inventory system.
    - Over 70 different items.
    - Randomly generated map with each new game.
    - Day/night cycle.

    *** Contest! ***
"Stranded!" reached #1 in the Roleplaying Games category in the App Store, and #8 in Simulations. To celebrate we're going to have a contest to give away a $50 gift certificate for the iTunes store.

The prize will go to the player that wins the game in the least number of game days. To prove that you have won the game, make a screenshot showing the Space Phone in your inventory (before you use it to call for the rescue). To make a screenshot, hold down the power button and press the home button at the same time. The screenshot is saved to your device's camera roll. Send screenshot entries to contest@gilligames.com. Entries must be received by November 21, 12:00 AM Eastern time (Friday night at midnight). Gilligames employees and relatives are not eligible.

Overall I'm having fun with this game and am impressed with the whole setup/gameplay. Graphics and sounds are good enough. Presentation is decent. The game is interesting. A worthwhile game. For $2, I recommend it, I give it an 8/10.

    *** Hints ***
-Search dirt areas for small boulders to build a fire pit.
-Use coconuts as an immediate source of nutrition and hydration, but also find fish in shallow water.
-Boar meat provides the best nutrition and health.
-Search beaches often for useful items from the shipwreck.

Survival games are, admittedly, a dime a dozen (except on the app store, where they're generally 99 cents a pop), and Stranded (or SWAP as it goes by), is a familiar scene: a space guy ends up stranded on a desert island in the middle of some ocean. Does SWAP stand out? Well, on the plus side, the game does have good graphics, an impressive collection of items that can be crafted, and it's very much a sandbox game (complete with the sand). While there's an overall objective, rescue, it's up to you to set your own priorities and handle staying hydrated, fed, and not dead. Unfortunately, that's it for the plus list. The biggest problem, the real problem, with SWAP is that it's not finished. While you can craft a huge menu of different survival tools, most of them don't do anything. You can build a shelter, but it does nothing. You can build a water catcher, but you can't get water from it. With the exception of a campfire a hunting tools, nothing you build has an effect...and that's really all that needs to be said. It's a 5 to Stranded Without a Phone, which realistically should be renamed "Stranded in an Unfinished Game." Expand
