Tap Tap Revenge Tour isn't new, but it's smart, gorgeous, and satisfying as a free game, while being enough fun to warrant spending some real money for favorite tracks. Grab it and start shredding.

Tap Tap Revenge Tour does a great job of living up to the legacy of one of the most popular music gaming series on the App Store. There's a huge amount of variety in the music selections, a pretty generous chunk of free tracks, and the Jam mode lets you carry on rocking even while you wait for the cooldown on your career.

To be completely honest, Tap Tap Revenge Tour isn't tearing down any new walls. The game mechanics got tweaked, as did the graphics, and a pretty basic tour mode was added to extend playtime. This isn't so much a new game as it is an update of the same game that has been around since 2008.

It's a novelty, but fans of artists like Maroon 5 and Katy Perry will certainly get a kick out of it. Basically, if the library of tracks tickles your fancy, then so should this app.

Tap Tap Revenge Tour's titular new feature is kind of impotent, but the basic Tap Tap Revenge formula still holds up.

The same old Tap Tap beat-matching gameplay we love, applied to an oddly restrictive structure we don't.

When playing previous Tap Tap Revenge games, I've always had issues with tap feedback as well as the occasional slowdown and jittering (making note paths seem not as smooth). Unfortunately, Tour doesn't seem to do much to alleviate those concerns.
