Terra Noctis borrows most of its gameplay from the Mario playbook, and when executed this well with an inventive premise and fantastic presentation, this can hardly be described as a bad thing.

A 2D platformer in the traditional sense, Terra Noctis borrows elements from Sonic and Mario to create one of the best examples of the genre yet seen on the iPhone. Physical controls would have made it a near-perfect game, but it's still a highly recommended download.

One of the best games on the App Store, an iPhone and iPad experience that feels instantly familiar, but is in no way boring. A pleasurable nightmare, indeed.

It may be scavenging a lot from other games of the genre, but Terra Noctis is a decent platformer nonetheless. What it lacks in personality, it makes up for in efficiency.
