Coupled with varied and exciting gameplay, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a first rate experience that should please most Spidey fans.
  2. Apr 23, 2014
There seems like some nice extended play value, as there are villains beyond those starring in the movie, and arena mode and regular events.
  3. Apr 28, 2014
It’s a little repetitive at times, but it still feels pretty great to zip along the skyline and beat up thugs as Spider-Man.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a better game than the first episode, as it delivers some smooth, spectacular fights and nice sandbox. What a pity the camera is often hard to control.

A bit repetitive and not very innovative action adventure game based on the recent film. Still, the game is fun to play and graphically has been recreated with charm.

Though Gameloft have taken a lot of what was wrong with the first game and improved on it, it still struggles to recreate the excitement of the action-packed opening. Nevertheless, fans of the first game will feel right at home with the sequel and will still have tons of web-slinging fun.
  7. Another addition to Gameloft's movie-based games. This one tells another story than the original movie. But still we swing our webs to the clouds and the combat system becomes boring after a time.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is the latest game developed by Gameloft. The game has good graphics and the gameplay is simple and very fun. However, there are in-app purchases and a few bugs. Moreover, you need a constant internet connection to play.

Swinging through the city streets is entertaining, but The Amazing Spider-Man 2’s control and camera issues prevent it from becoming a marvel.
  10. May 6, 2014
Despite solid controls and presentation, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 lacks any sort of heart and soul, and its repetitive missions lend this open-world adventure a pervading sense of dullness and drudgery.
  11. May 2, 2014
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 gives you the power of Spider-Man, but doesn’t give you much to do with it, making it one to skip, despite the promising outlook.

While Manhattan has been beautifully realised (at least by mobile standards), it’s been weighed down by clumsy controls, and random drops in frame rate. The combat had potential, but it lacks the depth necessary to fully realise it. In-app purchases are thankfully unnecessary, but their existence is still troublesome, and the internet connection requirement is an unnecessary nuisance.
  13. Apr 21, 2014
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is marginally better than the previous game in many ways, and I'd dare say we are approaching the quality of the early console open world Spider-Man games in most respects, which is a delight for just a fiver. At the same time, there are a variety of things included in this game that not only do not benefit the end user but actively sabotage the entire experience of trying to enjoy the game.
  14. Apr 28, 2014
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is rife with mechanical problems, bloated with aggressive in-app purchase hooks, and forces a constant sense of mission deja vu. Don’t get caught in this web.

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. The amazing spiderman 2 by gameloft is a huge improvement from the previous amazing spiderman. Graphics have been tweaked significantlly as the game looks like a late ps2 game with sharp textures and refelections on bulidings.Voice acting is thankfully very good as the voice actors do a fine job of moving the story forward. The city has also been expanded as manhatten is much larger with tons of side missions to do. Web swinging is a blast as I loved diving from the sky and doing dizzing acrobactics with smooth animations. The Combat system is also improved as you have a decent amount of combos to Chain together with a counter system that relies on timing.Boss fights involve mashing combos and quick time events mixed with chasing the boss. Once again you gain currency as you progress throughtout the game. You can increase skills by spending this money on skills. You have several skills to choose from that are branched out in different directions. Some of the upgrades can be expensive and might need grinding. Lastly Gameloft has included online events that change such as brawling or catching criminals in a limited time period. Gameloft clearly borrowed this from the batman arkham games. But it is a blast to play as you earn rewards. However you need key which costs 1000 coins. You can usually win a key as a reward. Unfortunately the game has many flaws that might frustrate or piss some people off. First of all the game requires wifi which is awful decision as this is a single player game, and to add insult to injury, the game crashes much to often several times the game crashes on a random occurance. There are a few laughable bugs such as spideys head going through buildings or bullets being fired from invisible guns, to textures popping up as you move along. The car textures are fairly low res and ugly. Lastly the game has ridiculous prices for in app purchases as extra costumes cost 5.99 to$30! This is terrible as the game is already paid for and shouldn't be there. However their optional and not required. Also the game gets repetive so it is suggested to play in. Short sessions.Overall a great game that is held back by crash issues, bugs, repetitive grinding and not truly being a " mobile game ". If these issues are fixed then; this game is a absolute blast to play Full Review »

Riddled with in app purchases, riddled with repetitive gameplay, and just a generally bland story line. The graphics look fine and dandy aside from the god awful character models that look like they're from 2002. The excuse is that it's for ios. But that's not an excuse. There has been good ios games in the past. And hell gameloft has even made good spiderman ios games themselves. Full Review »
