Apr 23, 2012100Although it's not much like the superb PC games and has several noticeable flaws, Total War Battles is a surprisingly beautiful and engaging mix of war gaming and puzzles.
-
Apr 25, 201290While Total War Battles: Shogun incorporates slightly simplified versions of tried and true strategy game mechanics, it blends them together incredibly well.
-
Apr 22, 201290This high-quality production dramatically streamlines the RTS genre for mobile play, while making sure it's packed with enough tactical depth to make its many skirmishes tense and exciting.

-
May 30, 201288This is a very enjoyable game and although a little pricier than others, is worth a look.
-
May 28, 201280It might be a stripped-down version of the legendary Total War PC games, but still, Battles is capable of delivering addictive and unique to the platform strategy gameplay.
-
May 4, 201280Despite having little to do with the original game, Total War Battles: Shogun delivers a solid tower defense experience, packed with plenty of levels and units. What a pity the touch controls don't always work as they should and there's no online multiplayer.
-
Apr 26, 201280Bolstered by solid voice work and elegantly stylised art, this has an uncommon level of polish for a iOS title, while its ten-hour runtime justifies the premium price tag.
-
Apr 25, 201280The playfield itself is, in fact, the real key to how this is a new direction for the series. In many ways, it defines the play experience.
-
Apr 24, 201280A refreshing change from the App Store's barrage of angry avians, physics-based puzzler and match-3 games.
-
Apr 24, 201280A special game, but different to its elder siblings. Those who are looking for an adaptation of the mechanics of Total War on PC will be disappointed, but this iOS concept is fun, quick and simple to understand. Maybe not what fans of the series were expecting, but still a good strategy game.
-
Apr 23, 201280It's Total War in name only but even so this is one of the most well-designed strategy games on smartphones - and certainly one of the most attractive.
-
Apr 23, 201280Scaled down out of necessity, Total War Battles: Shogun isn't quite the grand spectacle that the name might suggest. That's easily forgiven, though, since the compelling tactical battles, rich setting and high production values all shine on their own accord. It's not the cheapest iOS app, but it's well worth the dough for anyone looking for high quality RTS gaming on the go.
-
Apr 23, 201280It would be too much to ask for a full adaption of the Total War series for the iOS platform, but Battles still manages to retain a focus on strategic elements despite borrowing a handful of tropes from established genres, making it a deeper experience than your average line/castle defense title.
-
Apr 23, 201280Once you get into the principle that is slightly inspired by Plants vs. Zombies, this mixture of tower defense, strategy and charming puzzles is quite entertaining.
-
Apr 23, 201280If you are looking for a strategy game that is easy to get into, and still have a lot of depth Total War Battles: Shogun comes highly recommended.
-
Apr 24, 201279Total War Battles is a beautiful RTS game for mobile play.
-
Aug 30, 201275The idea behind Total War Battles is hardly clever or fresh, but The Creative Assembly did what most of its less talented rivals could not – it turned a casual concept into a full-fledged strategy game.
