    Although it's not much like the superb PC games and has several noticeable flaws, Total War Battles is a surprisingly beautiful and engaging mix of war gaming and puzzles.

    Bolstered by solid voice work and elegantly stylised art, this has an uncommon level of polish for a iOS title, while its ten-hour runtime justifies the premium price tag.

    It might be a stripped-down version of the legendary Total War PC games, but still, Battles is capable of delivering addictive and unique to the platform strategy gameplay.

    Despite having little to do with the original game, Total War Battles: Shogun delivers a solid tower defense experience, packed with plenty of levels and units. What a pity the touch controls don't always work as they should and there's no online multiplayer.

    Total War Battles: Shogun is so far a great game. For a time, it crashed on me, but it resolved itself. The units are diverse and all have their strengths and weaknesses. The game play is challenging, but can be easier if some thought is put into it. Overall, this game is one that should be on your iPad.… Expand
