If you're anything like me, the thrill of fighting off waves of aquatic-robot monsters with a well armed half-spider, half-velociraptor Araknasaur makes Velocispider an easy buy. Fortunately, it's also a challenging arcade game that will keep you scrabbling for a high score.
One of the more addictive games you'll find on the App Store, despite the fact that it stars one of the most terrifying heroes in recent memory.
It's something that really gives you that feeling of a game that's been 30 years in the making.
A fresh take on the old school arcade games. Funfilled action with great looking pixel art. The game might be short, and somewhat shallow. The lack of alternative controls to the accelerometer is also a drawback. In the end it is still really easy to recommend.
Velocispider is an exciting retro-styled shooter, but it could use a bit more variety and depth.
An entertaining, if familiar, shooter, Velocispider may not be the most original title on the App Store, but it offers up a good dose of dependable old skool gaming.
Just because a game is a time-waster, it doesn't mean it can't be filled to the brim with fun; sadly its relatively rigid levels focus' on high-score junkies for replay value.
