The first installment of Xenome is the most engaging open-world game to hit the App Store yet.
Xenome Episode 1 is one of those rare opportunities to enjoy a fully-featured and wholly unique experience on your iDevice and is heartily recommended.
Despite repetitive missions and performance issues, Xenome, Episode 1 has the right stuff when it comes to role-playing.
I look forward to Xenome Episode 2, and hopefully Nine Pound Studios will hire someone to create interesting missions tying up the story.
With some more effort and inventiveness, Xenome Episode 1 could have been a great game. I hope that future chapters bear out the promise of its premise and its technical charms. For now, I can only give it a tepid recommendation, as its impressive graphics and expansive environment are dampened by a dull, plodding play experience.
Xenome is, in one word, raw. It's very raw, but it has so much potential that I actually cannot wait for it to finally blossom.
