  1. Duke Nukem 64, while certainly not the fulfilling banquet that Rare's Goldeneye proved to be this year, is definitely meaty enough to fatten you up. Even if you feel like you're drowning in first person shooters these days, Duke 64 delivers enough innovative secrets and bullet riddled action to silence your cries.
  2. N64 is a great FPS. Its not ground-breaking, or cutting edge, just good, solid shoot’em up fun.
  3. The definitive action game for hardcore gun fetishists -- it''s second only to Goldeneye in the first-person adventure stakes, and a close second at that!
  4. You have came to the right place for challenge. 4 difficulty levels, ranging from totally pitiful, to "Damn I'm good!" Instead of throwing more monsters in there, those good folks at Eurocom have decided to regenerate the dead for this difficulty. Oh yeah, it's hard.

Duke Nukem 64 is definitely a better and much more intense shooter than Hexen and Doom 64, and currently the best N64 game whith a two-player co-op mode. If you don't already own the PC or Saturn version of Duke, do yourself a favor and get it.

Although enjoyable, Duke could have used more fine-tuning in gameplay and perks. It seems so ordinary without the PC raunchiness - so much like Doom that there's little to separate it from other corridor shooters.
  7. Gameplay is top notch. The ability to interact with the surroundings in an adventurous manner makes the game quite interesting.
  8. It's sad but unsurprising that the game's look pretty much duplicates the original PC game. While texture-mapped scenery looks a little better, all monsters, items, and basically anything changeable in the environment are implemented as sprites - essentially, sets of still pictures that show the same character in different perspectives. It's not very vivid.
  9. A great effort, but when compared to games like Turok or Golden Eye, it falls short. With glaring problems in the multiplayer modes, it's hard to see Duke Nukem 64 being taken seriously as a contender in the 3D shooter category.
  10. Nintendo's censors required the removal of many of the game's more "suggestive" elements (sex shops and strippers), which is obscene in my mind. It is okay to include violence but not sex? Isn't this a double standard?
  11. There is some good stuff here. It's a shame they had to ruin the rest of the game.

Girls, pigs, shotguns. Need to say more? One of those classic games that makes you smile as you destroy everything on your sight. Oh, and Duke will become your favourite hero. Full Review »

Loved this game even with all of it' shortcomings. I hope Duke finally makes his next generation debut sometime this year. One of my faves in the N64 era. Full Review »
