The fact is, THPS2 is still the best skateboarding game on the market. And the N64 version comes with the same addiction factor.
  2. While it may not be the most graphically impressive version of the game, it is faithful to the series and manages to be the best skateboarding game for the N64.
  3. If you own a PlayStation, Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2 or Xbox, I can't in good conscience recommend this as a purchase, but THPS 2 is definitely recommended for those of you who only own an N64.
  4. If you can handle the C Button syndrome while mid-air, you'll be winning championships like you were the Hawk himself.

It’s amazing that the now two-year-old engine is still kicking butt…Only if you don’t own a DC or a PS should you buy this. [Sept 2001, p.147]
  6. As complete a package as anything Nintendo or Rare has released and it deserves the respect that those titles garner.
  7. There are so many modes, multi-player games and features that could easily have you seeing less and less daylight as time goes on.
  8. If you compare it feature-by-feature to the other versions, you may come to two conclusions – it’s not as good, but it’s still as cool (and fun) to play.
  9. Nevermind the graphics. Forget the sound. The reason that so many people worship the Hawk series is because it is a fun game.

Great game at the time, but THPS3 and THAW improved so much on the formula that it's hard to come back to a time before Reverts. This is an excellent game, only let down by the system it runs on. I would give the PS1 version a 10/10. I'll start with the good. TheThis is an excellent game, only let down by the system it runs on. I would give the PS1 version a 10/10. I'll start with the good. The gameplay is EXCELLENT and just as fun as the PS1 version. The graphics are alright and the soundtrack is pretty good. It is extremely fun to just do freeplay and get an insane score. The split-screen multiplayer mode is great as well. The reason I give it a 9/10 is because the game's controls are really complicated on the N64 controller. Also some of the songs are missing from the PS1 but that doesn't really matter. Overall this is an excellent game that in my opinion, is an essential for the N64. Full Review »
