  1. Murky, poorly defined graphics, an atrocious frame rate and terrible level design culminate to produce a title almost completely lacking in entertainment value whatsoever. Avoid like the black death.

Turok 3 is a genuinely good FPS game which, despite being clearly rushed, manages to improve upon not only Turok 2, but the games it draws influence from, such as Half Life and System Shock 2.

The graphics are remarkable, the character models and shadow effects in particular standing as some of the best on the N64. The story is well told, the voice acting is well done, and while the combat isn't as fluid as something like Perfect Dark, it is still competent.

The multiplayer is passable, though no real competitor to Perfect Dark. It has 48 maps, and bots.

This game is a dark horse, and an unappreciated gem. I am tempted to give it 9 out of 10, but I'll settle for 8 out of 10. The game does have issues, but these don't prevent it being an amazing game.
