Turok 3 is a genuinely good FPS game which, despite being clearly rushed, manages to improve upon not only Turok 2, but the games it draws influence from, such as Half Life and System Shock 2.

The graphics are remarkable, the character models and shadow effects in particular standing as some of the best on the N64. The story is well told, the voice acting is well done, and while the combat isn't as fluid as something like Perfect Dark, it is still competent.

The multiplayer is passable, though no real competitor to Perfect Dark. It has 48 maps, and bots.

This game is a dark horse, and an unappreciated gem. I am tempted to give it 9 out of 10, but I'll settle for 8 out of 10. The game does have issues, but these don't prevent it being an amazing game.

Easily the best in the series and one of the best first-person shooters on the system.
  2. Simply put, this is the best Turok game yet and second only to "Perfect Dark" as a first person shooter.
  3. It offers a different experience than "Perfect Dark" and "TWINE" and Turok 3 is worth a look.
