I did not read the books, so some of the story seemed a bit confusing. While the game seems to have some interesting choices and mechanics,I did not read the books, so some of the story seemed a bit confusing. While the game seems to have some interesting choices and mechanics, and leveling itself is pretty fun (reminded me of the old wizardries), the process itself is tedious. The first area that you are in, you can easily come across a large pack of overpowered NPCs, that one-shot you. In some areas, a level 1 creature is across the "street" from a lev 40 one. To advance past the first main story line, I had to grind my way through whatever boards and rats i could find, just to advance two levels. After two hours of this, I got bored. I found the graphics lacking, the interface - something to get used to. Interesting group controls, lacking story, and slow painful grind. I would not recommend this game in its current state. As of 2013, there's nothing in this game to entice playing on a well-spec'd computer. But, if you are still using an older pre-2010 model,As of 2013, there's nothing in this game to entice playing on a well-spec'd computer. But, if you are still using an older pre-2010 model, this RPG will provide for a nice diversion. Plusses: The graphics are rendered nicely and colourful, making it pleasing to look at. The gameplay is different (pausing to choose next attack), but once you get used to it, it works well. The story (not reads the book) is not bad either, strange, but not bad. The music is quite nice too, that I liked the most. Minuses: I managed to get to the very end levelling up to 32, was able to beat level 40 baddies but not the very end boss who's 40+. The grind needed to level up to lvl 40 would be severe, so I left it. In summary, if you're PC is struggling with modern games, give this a go, it's quite pleasant. But otherwise there's no retro thing happening here to entice play. Full Review »
