This game is almost exactly the same as the previous one; HELLA FUN VIOLENT ACTION!!! If you are bored and you just want to blow the shit out of countless aliens then look no further! The only thing this game lacks is stunnig graphics and HD stuffz, but those are not the things that make a game FUN right?

Great game. Even though it is repetitive, it's loads of fun. The little RPG elements add a touch smarts to the otherwise mindless shooting game. No matter how many monsters were on my screen (engine mentions it support up to 100), the game ran smoothly. Every penny I spend on this (now) cheap (in regards to price, not quality) game was worth it.

Great Old-School fun, better value and more enjoyable than tweaking a DX10 Hog to work fluidly!

Every aspect of this game makes it fun to play, even if it isn't the best-looking game anyone has ever seen and it's limited to a maximum resolution of 1024 x 768. There are more weapons available than in any other game I've played, the variety is massive even within each category and the weapon effects are suitably satisfying. Blowing apart aliens with rocket and grenade launchers, miniguns and energy weapons proved to be stupendously satisfying, and I felt I got more value for my ten dollars than for games that cost five times as much. This game is FUN, FUN, FUN, offers multiplayer support as well as the campaign and Survival modes so there is a ton of replay value here. The story is nothing special, you are a mercenary hired to investigate the goings-on at a facility run by a massive corporation; who they are and what they're doing is shrouded in secrecy and you don't really know what you're walking into until you're face to face with hordes of aliens that want to tear you apart. Luckily, you have your huge arsenal of weapons with which to return the favour, and doing so is nothing short of awesome. Bloody, chunky bits litter the levels once you're done tearing the alien horde a new one, which left me feeling rather satisfied with my handiwork. Levels are separated by relative calm back at your main base of oeprations, which can be used to resupply. New weapons are available after every level, with increasingly potent hardware appearing as you progress. The who, how and what of the back story are slowly revealed throughout the game, and while not the best story ever, it provides a decent context for what you're doing. The RPG elements also add something to the game, with various stats available for boosting which in turn leads to you being a more effective soldier. Boost your intelligence to support better implants which give you stat boosts, up your accuracy to make better use of your ammunition, increase your Minigun and Submachine gun score to equip more powerful guns etc. There is even a perk to be selected at the start of each new game which assists the player in various ways, from making them more observant to a faster learner to a hitpoint vampire etc. At first glance, it is easy to dismiss Alien Shooter: Vengeance as a brainless, stupid shooter, but if you're prepared to look, there is some depth here that adds to the gameplay and replay values. Once you're done with the Campaign, try Survival, a mode which pits you against waves of aliens and which challenges you to survive as long as possible. If that gets a bit much, you can even play the SP campaign co-operatively with a mate, which is as much fun if not more so than playing it alone. Alien Shooter:Vengeance has a LOT to offer gamers that like to blow stuff up and tear aliens to shreds with high-powered weaponry, and is worth far more than the ten dollars you'll pay for it, at least in my opinion. For me, this is one of the most underrated games I've ever played, and if you're looking for something fun, igore the overall mediocre scores the game appears to be getting, and indulge yourself; there's a damn good chance you won't be disappointed and you might even have fun along the way. This gets too repetitive too fast. Guns like an MP5 become useless in a heartbeat by guns that do triple damage with more accuracy very quick. All the gun classes just jump up extremely in power wildly, with the best doing 20x the damage with the same ammo. Everything else is mediocre save for gameplay, which becomes a chore just to see the crap ending. Even at the $10 price this game won't be worth it unless you need a quick fix for a game right away, the fun lasts only a few minutes at a time at the longest. Expand

This is the kind of game that revolves on one visceral quality - carnage. The fun in this game comes from killing things, LOTS of things, in a satisfying manner. I sincerely enjoyed it. The graphics are average, but they work - since the fun doesn't come from looking pretty, but rather from content, I don't think it makes a difference in the end.

Fun Fun, it's addictive, it's ugly, it's bloody and it gets your heartrate up again and again. Sure its not a graphical eyefeast but it works, The missions are not hard but the sheer amount og critters masket it exiting all the same. the game still nedds some polishing i think and som sort of qiuck save/quick load feature..

This is a great game! Quite well balanced, fast and furious action. I completed this one pretty much nonstop over 2 days. Unputdownable. Last level was simply white nuckle nailbiting action! Runs well on a modern computer, good graphics.

  1. While Alien Shooter: Vengeance does have a few flaws in it's mix and is a rather old-school title in both it's gameplay and it's graphics, at the same time it is actually quite entertaining in that it can be increasingly hard to put down the farther you get into the game.
  2. The game may be a little too self-consciously old-school for some, but the action is so fast, furious, and blithely bloody that it's hard to resist getting swept up in the carnage.

It's a lot of fun. However, marred by various minor nuisances, and ultimately simple and repetitive gameplay, some gamers may tire quickly. This title is recommended if you're simply looking for some quick, mindless fun.
